Requirement to study in UK

Academic Requirements
The academic requirements to apply for bachelor's and master’s degrees are slightly different in the UK. Take a look below for a clearer idea.


For a Bachelor's degree:

  • A minimum academic score of 70% or above or a minimum  GPA of 2.8 is required.
  • IELTS test score of a minimum of 6.0 overall and no band less than 5.5.
  • Gap of no more than 3 years.


For a Master’s degree:

  • A minimum academic score of 60% or above is required for 3 years of a bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum academic score of 50% or above is required for four years of a bachelor’s degree.
  • IELTS test score of at least 6.5 overall and no band less than 6.0.
  • Gap no more than that of 4 to 5 years.


Note: 

Some universities may have an IELTS waiver if a student has scored 70+ marks or a B/B+ grade in an English subject under the 10 + 2 qualification examination.
For academic scores less than those mentioned above, foundation courses are available.

University Application Requirements
Here is a list of documents you need to have before you apply for higher education at universities.

  • Application form
  • A valid passport
  • Up-to-date academic documents
  • Language Proficiency Test Results
  • Two recommendation letters
  • Statement Of Purpose
  • In case of gap years, explanation is required with proof of work experience.


Visa Application Requirements

  • A valid passport
  • Academic Documents (SLC/SEE and above)
  • CAS Letter (which will be given by your university)
  • Bank balance certificate and statement. (Funds must be in the bank on hold for at least 28 days or while applying for a visa.)
  • Medical Report (from IOM)
  • Police Report
  • Birth Certificate
  • Copy of Citizenship
  • Refusal history (if any)
